Neighbourhood and local area reviews for renting in United Kingdom

The neighbourhood was lovely. All the residents were extremely welcoming and they made us feel included as soon as we moved in. The university bus stops are about a 10/15 minute walk and the bus into city is located a 5 minute walk away. The road is adjacent to Moorland road which has basically everything you need close to hand - Express Supermarket, Pharmacy, Discount Store, lots of food places etc.
Maybrick is not a through-road which also means that we didn't have constant traffic outside.

Absolutely lovely neighbours. Bus service is terrible, scheduled for every 20-30 minutes at the best of times and rarely showed up when due - landlord told us before we moved in that the bus was every ten minutes.

House is in a good area, pub close by as well as a small sainsburys and newsagents, city centre is about a 20 minutes walk. However, unless the landlord makes massive changes to the way he behaves towards tenants and maintains the house its not worth the hassle of living here.

Busy, good for kids, short walk to shops, school and nursery, park right next door, all good

7 minutes to Aldi, 10 minutes to the centre of town. Sits on a main road, so could hear larger traffic going by. Neighbors are fairly friendly. Bus stops a minute and a half away.

The neighbourhood is a mixture of locals and students. There was rarely noise issue from the majority of the residents. Although lacking aesthetic charm, Abbey Court was safe.
At the start of the tenancy there were regular police visits to the area. These reduced half way through the tenancy.
There is a cat called Artemis that sits on the walkway. He is quite friendly once you earn his trust.

busses or a short road ride to a bike route into town, neighbors alright but there was a little bit of student resentment. Within walking distance of a coop and Sainsburys.

We didn't expect a delightful neighbourhood living so close to town, but with the front door of the flat being busted we had drunken strangers regularly wandering into our home. The agency were useless with fixing this issue.

Neighbourhood was great. Only complaint was late night music, and occasional drunks coming out of pub around the corner.
