Neighbourhood is decent.
Nice neighbours.
No issues like crime etc. Good area to live.

The Groves in York is a rough area. Loud from students on every street as we are extremely close to York St John. The drug issues and social housing problems and the people that occupy them cause lots of dangerous problems in the area. Your property or yourself is never safe walking around. Shops close by and schools. City centre 15 minutes away.

Close to the train station as you can get which is why we moved there. However, above a Chinese restaurant meant it was always loud with ventilation pipe going past the windows. There were always weird goings on in the car park etc. And people would often park in your allocated space, even breaking the bollard to do so with the landlord charging for the it when it didn’t do the job intended.

Very modern half-gentrified area which has resulted in an extremely awkward (and sometimes tense) atmosphere. Nice walk around the wildlife reservoir. Restaurant is expensive with poor quality food, shops are pricey and there's virtual no soul/culture.

Not a bad area - good distance from the city centre, and lots of good pubs in the locality.

The flats in the building next door were used by a Romanian family as an illegal waste transfer station for the waste materials and goods that their women with buggies stole from gardens. Otherwise, the view over the Lines was good.

No complaints about the neighbourhood. Close links to the university and good transport links.

Run down area but close to shops and a park. Close to bus route. Opposite Victorian Baths.

Nice and lots of cafes etc. Not much trouble at all mainly just noisy students but lt very nice area.

The local area was great, Divinity Road always is with great accessibility to the local pubs and clubs, as well as Oxford Brookes. I would really reccomend this road to second year Brookes students but make sure to vet your lettings agent before you choose a property as opposed to after.
