A bit dodgy
Selly Oak is a student area therefore petty crime can occur. However this street is relatively safe and would not perturb me from renting this property.

Selly oak is fun, lots of nice pubs. Edgy at night time. Good as pretty much every student lives in Selly oak so close to see your friends.

The heart of Selly Oak obviously isn't a particularly nice or safe area. Transport links however were very good, and our property is close to the Uni, a train station, bus routes, and plenty of shops on Bristol Road.

Walking distance to shops, malls, restaurants, library, train station, buses, and so on. Very close to the action, without much of the street noise. Parking is difficult even with permits; sometimes have to park in paid car park or several streets away! Permits are cheap at 25 quid/year each - max 3 per household (2 with reg listed plus one guest).

The local area, Levenshulme, was nice and quiet most times. Haniwells was less than 20 mins walk to the train station and 10 min to the cycle path. It is close to several bus routes such as 192 171 and 172.

Quiet area near to shops and buses,
A little on the rough side my car windows got smashed and there was always random knocks at the door

5 min walk to 26 bus service, or orange line bus stop right outside road so good. lots of parking. some loud neighbours. fish and chips and small corner shop 5 minutes away

The best street, so many cool shops and near to centre of city. Bit noisy though, sounds echoed a lot on that road.

Quiet neighbours, house is right close to Victoria Park :) really easy to get into town and a Tescos and bakery within 2 mins walk. Great area to live in.
