We had so many issues while living there but we became nervous to report anything after we were given a dangerous gas leak when the landlord and his friend came round to 'fix' our broken cooker hob. Landlord tried to get us to not phone emergency gas services (obviously nervous about the fact that he did not use a certified gas person to look at it). After this we had no trust in him and felt worried about every asking him to come 'fix' somethine or come in the flat. When fridge shelf broke he 'fixed' it with some very weak glue. Also took £85 from our deposit when we left for cleaning when we had cleaned it perfectly ourselves and was in fact cleaner than when we moved in. Untrustworthy and cheap.

Reasonably sized 2 bedroom flat with lovely big bathroom and big master bedroom. Separate living room and kitchen. 1st floor flat with yard shared by flat downstairs. Not great access to yard due to freezer blocking the door but you can get past if you're skinny. The flat would be so much nicer if looked after but there are damp patches and flaking paint everywhere, we had huge patches of mould growing in our bedroom that weren't properly treated and the smallest hob of our cooker never worked, even though we asked to get it fixed. Also the fridge was held together with glue and the flat was not cleaned properly before we moved in. Curtains in main bedroom were broken and didn't shut properly.

Area review for Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne

Area rating: 8

The area of Gosforth is so lovely, with a little butchers and greengrocers at end of road if you are ever free during their opening hours. High street 15 minutes walk away with amazing pub (the Brandling Arms) and local shops. Free parking through most of Gosforth and the Town Moors 20 minutes away.
