Landlord review for Sanjeev Kohli, Glasgow
Landlord rating: 1
No idea what Sanjeev Kohli (son of the letting agents) think of all the terrible treatment we suffered at the hands of Kohli Properties, but his parents' company represents him by proxy, so he is as culpable as them for our treatment

Letting agent review for Kohli Properties, Glasgow

Multiple things were broken when we moved into the flat: lampshades ripped, the majority of lightbulbs broken, door locks broken, cooker hood broken etc; things that a basic inspection wouldn't of missed. It was clear from this that Kohli had not followed the procedure of a third party inspection, but had inspected the flat themselves. The flat was mouldy everywhere from move in day and therefore stank. We asked Kohli Properties to do something in an increasingly desperate fashion, and they were totally uncaring and rarely responded at all. Took them months to even begin try to work out what was wrong. We had the council out to inspect, who informed us that Kohli Properties known about the terrible mould problem before we moved in. Nothing was ever mentioned to us about this. The problem was so bad that many of our possessions were covered head to toe in mould when stored in the cupboards or shelves in the property, and all of the tenants developed various throat, sinus and chest problems. Instead of heading the council’s orders to do something about the issue, Kohli Properties blamed us for it; despite the fact the building had multiple structural issues causing the problem. They eventually removed the inner glazing, meaning the flat maintained a maximum temperature of 12 degrees WITH the heating on. A layer of black mould inches high was left all over the unpainted, crumbling, damaged windowsills, which we then had to clean ourselves. To add insult to injury we were not reimbursed for all of this, but charged the full (expensive) rent of well over £20,000. We were also charged extortionate cleaning fees for a flat we left clean. They tell all their new residents that they get all flats professionally cleaned as standard, but they are lying and they always make the previous tenants pay. We were also targeted by egg throwers twice during the year by a mentally unstable neighbour, but Mrs Kohli believed the neighbours testimony without consulting us and called us disgusting (or words to equal effect).

Property review for 180 Hyndland Road, Partick Eastkelvindale, Glasgow
Property rating: 3
Has the potential to be a very nice flat, but total neglect means it is not fit for human habitation. We were burgled easily on one occasion during the year, and the flat is very open to further incidents.

Area review for Partick Eastkelvindale, Glasgow
Area rating: 8
Nice area with interesting and unique shops and restaurants. It is an expensive, upmarket kind of place, so not a lot of choice on the cheap and cheerful front.
