Repairs fixed promptly but not completely - mice never found but some holes sealed, showers were old so problems kept returning, other issues described in property section. Landlord generally nice except towards end of tenancy. Could be patronising. Hardly ever saw her. We paid far too much for the cleaning fee at the end, considering all of the issues we faced and our thorough cleaning, but did not want to cause argument. Ensure you take photos of the property THOROUGHLY and timestamp them for proof.

4 bedrooms, 2 large 2 small, 1 ensuite. One medium sized family bathroom - prone to mould due to faulty extractor fan & old shower tiles (same with ensuite). Washing machine mouldy on arrival. Fridge broke and replaced, but given to us with cockroaches which took over a month to get exterminated - tenants had to leave the property without refunded rent. Mice able to enter one bedroom due to poor structure of the building. Poor windows lead to drafts in the winter. Wasps nest on arrival of the property - taken out 1-2 months after entering. Both shower heads broke and replaced more than twice. Leaky ceiling in one bathroom never completely fixed. Drawers in two of the bedrooms faulty and not replaced.

Area review for Bargate, Southampton

Great location in terms of shops, parks and travel. Located next to a large car park where homeless people slept. Had 2 instances where they managed to enter the flat building due to the downstairs tenants leaving the door open/breaking it. Weren't warned of weekly music / performances in building directly next door, every weekend from around 5pm till 11:30pm. Noise complaints never addressed by council. downstairs tenants also smoked weed, and played music until about 4am on weekends.
