The landlord was very difficult to speak to or to contact and was reluctant to fix anything. She was quick to provide excuse after excuse, giving us unnecessary details of her personal life. A cowboy landlord. At the end of our tenancy she tried to scam us out of money charging us for discrepancies already present in the property before our arrival

Our property was an 8 bedroom house, an older property which had not received any refurbishment for some years. Room sizes varied from very large to very small closet style rooms. The property was extremely cold due to poor insulation, with cold air flowing up from the basement through drafts caused by gaps between the skirting boards. There were very few plug sockets making it impractical for modern living. The showers were broken, with one putting us at risk of electrocution. Cupboards were hanging off their hinges, walls and skirting boards were dirty and scuffed and window locks were faulty. The garden was not secure and a fallen wall offered supplies for thieves to break into the property which they inevitably did. When we first moved into the property it was extremely dirty and quite frankly disgusting, some of the worst being mould, flies and rats. Our landlord was extremely slow and reluctant to repair anything and was difficult to contact and unwelcoming to speak to. It was overall, a horrendous experience.
