Abode were pretty average and not great at arranging repairs quickly, but they were quite understanding when we suddenly had a housemate leave owing rent. Fees were pretty high.
We never met the landlord and all felt they were just happy to let it roll from tenancy to tenancy without proper renovation and that students wouldn't normally complain about these kind of conditions.

Property review for 20 Ashley Down Road, Bishopston and Ashley Down, Bristol

A group of 5 of us we're looking for somewhere to move together around Glos. road and were really struggling to find a 5 double bedroom place that would accept professionals rather than students. This was the only property we were able to find that fitted that and so even though it really wasn't that great, we took it.
Two decent sized double rooms and 3 small ones- 1 so small the landing had to be used for wardrobes. 1 bathroom where the only toilet in the house was too which made it very difficult living with 4 other people.
Kitchen was basic, standalone cooker with ceramic hobs that took 5 mins to heat up and 20 to change temperature, but a decent fan over, F/freezer and separate freezer. Only 3 cupboards and no drawers for cutlery.
Bathroom was so damp at one point we had mushrooms growing from the ceiling.
The damp was consistent around the whole house and it was clear from early on that any recent painting had just been over mould patches which reappeared within 2 months. We were told to keep the window open to stop it getting damp though of course we were doing this already.
Problem with the drains in the garden which were visted by the agency though never sorted. The smell would come into the downstairs bedroom which wasn't pleasant.
Garden was pretty nice though and got a good lot of sun.
